President of the South African Football Association, Danny Jordan has thrown his weight behind Mamelodi Sundowns to defeat Ghanaian giants, Hasaacas Ladies in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League final.
Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Malabo Kings in the semifinal on penalties to set up high flying Hasaacas Ladies in the final on Friday.
Giving updates on complaints from South Africa over its World Cup Qualifier against Ghana, Danny Jordan congratulated Mamelodi Sundowns for making it to the final and has backed the club to clinch the title over the Ghanaian outfit.
“Allow me to congratulate Mamelodi Sundowns ladies team on becoming the first South African women team to make it to the final of the CAF Champions League and if they win the Champions League then they will join a club like Barcelona who became the first club in Europe to win both the men and the women Champions League trophy”
“So, our thought and supports is with them and we want to wish them all the best representing South Africa and representing COSAFA and they’ve shown they are the best footballing team in our region,” he said.
