The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George has praised the management and staff of Ghana Post for their renewed energy, teamwork, and impressive performance.
Addressing management, staff, and union representatives during a Staff Durbar at the company’s headquarters, the Minister lauded Ghana Post’s recent transformation, noting that the organization’s progress reflects strong leadership and unity.
“It is clear to me that in Ghana Post, things are not just going well — they are going very well,” he remarked.
Hon. George attributed the company’s success to a strengthened relationship between management and the workers’ union, which he described as “the recipe for productivity and excellence.”
The Minister urged Ghana Post to begin retooling its operations with a focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. He encouraged management to consider introducing electric bikes and vehicles for last-mile delivery to help reduce carbon emissions.
“We must begin to think green,” he said.
Hon. George also challenged Ghana Post to expand its operations beyond the domestic market and explore new international delivery routes. He cited examples of Ghanaian entrepreneurs successfully exporting local products abroad, saying that similar innovation could open up new revenue streams for the postal service.
“We need to begin exploring new delivery routes — Japan, the UK, and elsewhere,” he advised. “That’s how Ghana Post can diversify and build resilience.”
The Minister concluded his remarks by congratulating Ghana Post on its recent election to the Council of Administration of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) — a major achievement that positions the company among leading postal institutions worldwide.
“You are flying the red, gold, and green high,” Hon. George said.
The Managing Director of Ghana Post Ms. Rita Sraha also on her part,
announced that they have delivered over 72,000 new chip-embedded passports nationwide, alongside bank cards, driver’s licenses, and other secure documents. The company is also partnering with e-commerce platforms to expand parcel delivery and boost revenue.
