Samuel Obeng, popularly known as Kwahu Dehyie, an aspiring Communication Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the New Juaben North Constituency, has pledged to strengthen party communication, empower grassroots members and create opportunities for youth and women if elected.
He said his administration would prioritize effective communication and research to equip party communicators with the necessary skills and resources to promote the party’s activities and policies.
As part of his vision, Mr Obeng promised to establish a Communication and Research Fund to support the training of male and female party communicators, enabling them to carry out their responsibilities more effectively.
He stressed that research is an essential part of political communication, noting that communicators need the right tools, including mobile phones and laptops, to gather accurate information and deliver credible messages to the public.
Mr Obeng further pledged to provide the necessary equipment to support party communicators if given the mandate, adding that empowering women would also form part of his leadership agenda.
He emphasized the need to strengthen grassroots participation and ensure that the voices of young people are heard in the party’s decision-making processes.
Appealing to delegates to support his candidature, Mr Obeng urged them to vote for him in the upcoming constituency elections, assuring them that his leadership would bring renewed energy, improved communication and positive change to the party.
He is contesting the position as Number 3 on the ballot paper and is campaigning under the slogans: “Change Is Here, Change Has Come” and “One Voice, One People.”
Mr Obeng expressed confidence that, with the support of delegates, he would help build a more effective, united and responsive communication team for the NDC in New Juaben North.
