The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower Manya Krobo, Hon. John Atteh Matey, has identified poor sanitation as one of the major challenges he inherited upon assuming office.
According to him, the municipality was confronted with serious sanitation concerns that required urgent attention to protect public health and improve the living conditions of residents.
Hon. Atteh Matey said addressing the sanitation situation has therefore been a key priority of his administration, with efforts focused on improving waste management, maintaining clean communities and encouraging residents to take responsibility for their surroundings.
He noted that sanitation cannot be addressed by the Municipal Assembly alone, stressing the need for collaboration between the Assembly, traditional authorities, community leaders and residents.
The MCE called on residents to support sanitation initiatives by avoiding indiscriminate dumping of refuse and observing proper waste disposal practices.
He assured residents that the Assembly would continue working to address sanitation challenges and create a cleaner and healthier environment across the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
