The total number of students in Public and Private Schools in the Eastern Region as of August 2022 is about 950,926, according to Eastern Regional Minister, Honourable Seth Kwame Acheampong.
Out of the number, 744,652 are in public and 206,274 are in private schools respectively.
Addressing the media at the Ministry of Information meet the press series at Accra, Honourable Seth Kwame Acheampong said the Region has 8,339 Public and Private Schools which compromise 5,239 and 3,100 Kindergarten, Primary, Junior High, Senior High, Technical, and Vocational Schools.
He said Public and Private Senior High Technical and Vocational Schools are 114, Junior High Schools are 2,185, Primary Schools are 3,042 and Kindergartens are 2,998.
The Regional Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to invest massively in the Education sector since it is key to National development.
