Members of the council of state and other stakeholders have been urged to as a matter of urgency guide President Akufo Addo’s speech whenever he is about to deliver to the public.
According to Rev. J.B Danquah, a former Chaplain of the U.S military hospital and a retired Minister of the Methodist Church, it was high time the president’s speech needed to be scrutinised, especially when he is going to do a one -on- one interview on radio or any platform.
He said sensitive regions like the Ashanti, Volta and the five(5) Northern regions should be the most serious ones where the President need to be guided so that he does not create further irritation.
He has, therefore, urged the Chief of Staff, the Council of state and other stakeholders to advise the President’s speech writers to always make sure he doesn’t add salt to injuries of Ghanaians due to the current state of the economy.
The Kwabre East resident who expressed disappointment in the president’s cheeky answer to the people of Kwabre regarding their threat to vote against the NPP over their deplorable roads, said, the first gentleman of the land was not expected to speak in that manner.
His comments come few weeks after President Akufo-Addo’s unpalatable speech concerning delegates who were appealing for road construction or vote against the NPP come 2024.
