The Omanhene of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area Osenk3s3 Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi Akankanfou II has been elected as the new President of the National House of Chiefs.
He defeated Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State who was seeking reelection.
Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi garnered 47 votes as against 25 polled by Togbe Afede XIV.
In the Vice-presidential race, Naa Puowele Karbo also defeated the incumbent, Dasebre Kwaku Ewusi VII of Aboadzi with 44 votes as against 28 votes secured by the incumbent.
A total of 72 Chiefs voted in the election which took place on Thursday in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital.
