A Senior Intelligence Officer of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Nana Okata Kwasi Asare, has urged the delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region to vote for him to become the next constituency Chairman to bring unity and lobby government to build the One District, One Factory in the area to reduce the unemployment rate.
Currently, aside from a few Private factories set up in the area, the Suhum Municipality on its own doesn’t have the 1D, 1F which forms part of the ruling government’s project to reduce the unemployment rate.
The aspiring Chairman Nana Okata, who picked and filed the nominations forms of the New Patriotic Party to contest for the Chairmanship position urged the party members to vote for him to get them jobs to do.
He made special mention of the akpeteshie distilling community, JATO, which he said has the propensity to produce various alcoholic beverage brands hence urged the distillers to form a corporative union to enable him to get investors to support them.
Nana Okata reminded delegates and youth of the party of the need to have a second source of income.
He revealed his plans to sponsor you to be trained in various technical and vocational training on how to make liquid soap, hand sanitizer, carpentry, bake bread, and others.
According to him, the U-start policy initiated by the government was in line with his policy, and has vowed to help the youth get jobs under his watch.
“I aim to help the youth get jobs. That is why I am pleading with them to rally behind me to win the seat. They should make my vision become a reality and I believe I will not let them down,” he said.
Party Office
Nana Okata said one of the major reasons why he has decided to contest for the chairmanship position was to help build an ultra-modern party office for Suhum, after operating from a rented office over the years.
He said it was about time the members of the Suhum NPP enjoyed the benefits of good governance under their leaders.
Among other things, he promised to name the conference hall of the ultra-modern office after the deceased Asana, who played a key role in helping the party win power under former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Nana Okata and three others have picked and filed the forms to contest the race.
