The True Drivers Union has demanded evidence from the government concerning its claim to have completed 4000 kilometers of roads.
This comes after Hon. Kwesi Amoako Atta stated that the government has been able to construct over 4000 kilometers of roads in the country since its assumption to power.
According to the Public Relations Officer for True Drivers Union, Yaw Barima the claims by the government are false and unrealistic.
“if the government has indeed completed 4000 kilometers of roads then we should be in London by now, there’s no way we will believe it until he shows us where it has been constructed”, he added.
He said that, as advised by the government to not be spectators, they request that the government shows proof of all the works he claims to have completed.
Speaking to an interview with Abena Pokuaa Ahwenee on Dadi FM, he has thrown a challenge to the government to show where the 4000 kilometers of roads have been constructed so they can applaud him for the good work.
“The president said we should be citizens and not spectators so we demand evidence, if we see this 4000 kilometers road then we can applaud the government for the good work done”
He, therefore, added that drivers have been paying toll fees almost every day yet they don’t see the value of the money since the roads are still the same, therefore if the government can show evidence then drivers will pay their toll fee without hesitation.
“We always pay toll fee and there are about 36 toll booths in the country so we should be seeing changes on our roads so that we are assured that our money is being used effectively”, he said.
