The State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA), on July 27, 2023 undertook a Performance Contract Evaluation visit to Ghana Maritime Authority for 2022.
The visit which was to validate GMA 2022 reported performance under the contract forms part the broad evaluation exercise being undertaken by SIGA.
The Annual Performance Contracts Signing, Monitoring and Evaluation is in fulfilment of the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act 2016, and the Regulations 2019, L.I. 2378, which requires State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) and Public Corporations to sign performance contracts with SIGA. The visit was a sequel to a Monitoring exercise of the Authority’s performance that SIGA undertook in 2022.
The SIGA Team, led by Mr. Joseph Sarpong, was received by Mr Yaw Akosa-Antwi, Deputy Director-General, in charge of Finance and Administration, Management members and other staff. The meeting discussed at length the 2022 Performance of GMA which the SIGA Team confirmed as improved performance compared to the 2021 performance.
GMA assured SIGA of a much more improved performance in 2023 given the initiatives management has put in place to ensure the implementation of all activities and fulfil the requirements under the contract.
