Section of the public has described it as needless a ceremony held to receive the first COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday morning.
Ghana received 600,000 doses of the COVAX vaccine from India at the Kotoka International Airport in the early hours of Wednesday morning as earlier hinted by the government.
Meanwhile, a short ceremony was held to receive the vaccines led by the Health minister-designate, Dr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu with the social distancing not well adhered to.
Some Ghanaians have, however, taken to social media questioning the essence of the ceremony as the manufacturers of the drug never had any official ceremony after production.
Some are also of the view that it is one of the dubious ways by some leaders to squeeze from the country the little we have.
“Can’t we use the money for the ceremony to do other things? We must be serious as a country” a social media user.
