The market women say waste container in the market is not regularly emptied causing the waste to overflow and liter the market.
According to the market women, the waste container in the market is not emptied on time despite the high rate of waste generation in the market coupled with domestic waste dumped by households in the vicinity.
They say the waste container is emptied once a month.
This causes the waste to overflow littering the market area but on the day of mybrytfmonline.com visit, the market women alleged the container was hurriedly emptied and whilst place kept tidied a few days ago because the Eastern Regional Minister Seth Acheampong was coming to attend a program at nearby church.
The unsanitary situation coupled with the erratic water supply at the market has become a source of worry to the market women which apart from the stench, attracts flies, rodents, and birds to the market.
