Popular Ghanaian singer Efya Nokturnal has reprimanded those who have criticized her for working on a song with a gospel artist. She maintains that she is still God’s child and that only God has the authority to judge her.
Efya said in an exclusive interview with Berla Mundi that she faced harsh criticism and abuse for appearing in a gospel song. She called the situation regrettable and questioned why someone would attack her for being in a Christian song.
She said, “I did a song with the gospel artiste, and they came at me and her, asking why she would collaborate with a secular artist like me. This is what I’m talking about.”
Efya emphasized that assuming that secular musicians are bad and don’t have a relationship with God is nauseating.
She explained, What’s that about? Can I not do gospel music? Are we serious? I am a Child of God. What are you saying? I have the power in me. I went to Bible School. You can’t Bible more than me.”
The well-known artist urged music fans and Ghanaians to pay attention to her accomplishments and positive traits rather than tearing them down with criticism. She said that she was the first female performer to set records and take home many prizes.
Undoubtedly, Efya is among the best artists in the nation. She has collaborated with a number of well-known musicians, including D-Black, Sarkodie, R2bees, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie.
