Some women believed to be supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been arrested by Police for allegedly defrauding hundreds of traders.
They are currently in the grip of Police at the Central Police Station in Koforidua.
Many supporters of the party as well as some executives of the party are also trooping to the Police station to sympathize and possibly secure bail for them.
A source at the Police station told mybrytfmonline.com that “they are women who claim to be NPP members. They are assisting investigation after many traders reported that they have taken monies from them under the pretext of securing government loans for them. They mentioned the name of a big man in NPP as the one who sent them.”
The Police are interrogating the suspects.
