The Western Cape province education department in South Africa has cleared Brackenfell High School of racism allegations made against its administration.
An official, Debbie Schäfer, said the invitation to the whites-only graduation party was a private one and had a limit for 100 guests because of Covid-19 regulations.
The school in Cape Town had said it did not organise the party, denying reports that it discriminated against black students.
A video of the “all-white matric party” was shared online by a parent who said their children were not invited to the party.
The party caused an uproar online and the Economic Freedom Fighters party, that speaks out on racism, held demonstrations outside the school.
