Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament also joined the world on Sunday to celebrate motherhood as part of the mothers’ day event celebrated globally.
Commenting on his Facebook page, Hon. Alban Bagbin commended all mothers for the influence and impact that motherhood has had on the upbringing of children.
May 9 has been set aside annually to recognize and appreciate the effort of mothers’ as their toils and sweat, challenges and battles of life belie your immutable strength.

On the occasion of the celebration of Mother’s Day, I join all Ghanaians in recognizing and celebrating the influence and impact that motherhood has had on us and on the country at large. Your toils and sweat, challenges and battles of life belie your immutable strength. A lot more mothers in positions of responsibility, authority and trust, and Ghana will be a better place for all of us.
Our mothers and motherhood, in general, remain the fragrance of our lives, the splendour of our presence, the tenderness of our conduct, the peace in our homes, the gorgeousness of how we emerge, the soul of our travails, and the elegance of our life’s story.
On behalf of all Ghanaians, I wish all women a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY.
