Election Watch Ghana is worried that Ghana’s democracy is now becoming more expensive rather than expressing of views holistically.
The Executive Director, Mark Ewusi Arko noted the issue is worrying and must be dealt with before it detoriate the country’s democratic principle and governance.
Speaking to Kwamina Sam Biney on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem on actions of the Ayawaso West Wugon MP, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Mr. Arko faulted the lawmaker for engaging in such act, as it goes against the rules and procedures laid down by the electoral body.
“It is a crime to share gifts to people who are in queue to cast their votes. It is against our election laws to do such a thing during voting period” he stated.
Mr. Arko therefore called on electorates and politicians to desist from such incidents to make the elections credible on December 7.
