Speech and hearing impaired couples have tied the knot in separate colourful wedding ceremonies in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital.
The beautiful wedding ceremonies were held at the Central Tabernacle of The Church of Pentecost – Koforidua.
The couples are members of the Church’s Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs) Assembly in Koforidua.
The latest wedding ceremony for speech and hearing impaired couples was held Saturday, December 18, 2021, between Brother Stephen Kwaku Danso Abrokwah and Sister Cecilia Addae.
The same was held two weeks ago for another two hearing-impaired couples in the same Church auditorium.
The wedding ceremonies were attended by members of the MPWD Assembly, family members, well-wishers as well as Elders and Pastors of The Church of Pentecost.
The officiating Ministers were Pastor Akwasi Amo Afropong – the District Pastor, National MPWD Coordinator Pastor, Reuben Peter Wuni and Pastor Francis Broni – Koforidua Area MPWD Coordinator, supported by Elder David Asante Adjei-Presiding Elder, MPWD Assembly and Elder Samuel K. Tettey – The District MPWD Coordinator.
National Coordinator of MPWDs of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Reuben Peter Wuni said, the vision of MPWDs is to become an effective and significant ministry, which in collaboration with the Church, projects the love of Christ to the marginalized PWDs across the nations, not only to win their souls for Christ but, also, to provide them equal opportunities to glorify God.
He urged families with persons with disability to encourage them to be part of the MPWDs assemblies to experience the love of God to the marginalized in society.
He said society should not look down upon such people but accord them even more dignity and privilege in all endeavour.
Pastor Reuben Peter Wuni believes the wedding ceremonies of persons living with disabilities will inspire others to also fulfil the holy matrimony.
