A 38-year-old woman Doris Dzifa standing at the roadside waiting to board a vehicle has been violently knocked down to death by a speeding car at Obretema near Suhum in the Eastern region.
The body deceased was cut into two at the waist level. The gory images obtained by mybrytfmonline.com are horrible.
Doris Dzifa was staying in Koforidua until last year when she moved to stay with her husband in Suhum.
According to the Suhum Police, the crash occurred on August 12, 2021, at about 3:30pm.
The suspect driver Michael Kotei age 36 years was driving a Honda accord Private car with trade plate number DV 2115C-2021 with three persons on board from Accra towards Kumasi but on reaching a section of the road at Krobom-Obretema near Suhum on the Accra-Kumasi highway lost control of the steering wheel veered from the road and knocked down the female pedestrian standing at the roadside waiting to board a commercial vehicle.
The impact forced the vehicle to land into a ditch in a nearby Bush.
The body of the victim was cut into two pieces and died on the spot.
The suspect driver together with other occupants sustained injuries and was rushed to Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.
According to the Sergeant Godwin Kploanyi of the Suhum District accident squad of MTTD, the body was removed and deposited at the same hospital mortuary for preservation and Autopsy.
He said in a report that the accident vehicle was impounded at the station for testing.
