The Occupational Health and Safety Unit in collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service has organized a 3-day training program for Staff of the Eastern Regional Hospital on basic firefighting techniques and how to deploy such skills in combating fires.
The training witnessed Staff demonstrating their abilities to douse fire in an open space among many other drills.
The training was sponsored by Hospital Management to equip Staff with the requisite firefighting skills to ensure the safety of clients, healthcare workers as well as properties of the facility in the event of a fire outbreak.
Routine fire safety drills define all necessary measures undertaken to avoid or reduce the likelihood of a fire that may result in death, injury, or property damage.
