The Right to Information Commission today Monday, 13th December 2021 organized training for its staff on Regulatory Governance at the Commission’s premises on Monday.
The purpose of the training was for the staff of the Commission to learn new skills to execute the governance and regulatory mandate of the Legal Department of the Commission needed to realize the objectives of the Commission, which is to promote, monitor, protect and enforce the right to information that is granted to a person under paragraph (f) of clause (1) of Article 21 of the Constitution and the provision of Act 989.
Hence, the need for Commission staff to acquaint themselves with governance and regulations for the progress and smooth implementation of the RTI Act, 2019 (Act 989).
The training was spearheaded by the Institute of Director-Ghana (IoD-GH) led by Prof. Albert Puni.
He took the staff through Governance and Regulation, Regulatory Governance Model, and Internal Control System among others.
The training which was held in the Boardroom of the Commission was also attended by the Executive Secretary of the Right to Information Commission, Mr. Yaw Sarpong Boateng Esq.
