The Volta Diaspora Caucus -New Juaben South Constituency Chapter condemns in no uncertain terms the unfortunate, trivial, tribal and reckless statement of President Akufo Addo. The President whiles addressing the chiefs and people of MEPE ,rather made mockery of the dire situation of the people by declaring that he ought not to have been there because people from that side of the country didnt vote for him.
We believe that the happenings in the Lower Volta Basin currently calls for nationalist discussions and not partisan bigotry.
We want to remind the president that he is the president of the Republic of Ghana and not a selected few.
We urge him to rather focus his attention on finding immediate solution to the plight of the good people of the Volta region affected by the unplanned Dam spillage by the Volta River Authority ( VRA).
We sympathise with our families, friends and comrades in the affected areas and share in your grief.
We call on all well meaning Ghanaians to lend a hand of support to our comrades in these difficult moments.
