Vice President Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia joined the Chief of the Wangara Community in Ghana, Masaba Fanyinama III , Wangara Chiefs from across the country and members of the Wangara fraternity from all walks of life, in Kintampo, for the 25th Annual Benkade Kurubi Festival.
He commended the Wangara Community for upholding this festival, which brings them together annually, and also urged them, and other groups and communities, to stay united and not allow their harmonious relationships with others, to be derailed by people with parochial, political interests.
According to the Vice President, “I am immensely grateful to Chief Fanyinama III and the Wangara Community in Ghana, for the honour of enskinning me as “Benkelemasa,” which means one who unites”.
He added “This will inspire me to continue to be a leader for all. Regardless of our ethnic, religious and political differences, we are one people”.
