Ghana Premier League side, Brekum Chelsea are set to name Stephen Amankona as the club’s new captain following the departure of Zakaria Fuseini ahead of the season.
The 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League is set to return after several months of inactive football in the country due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to reports, the attacking midfielder will be given the leadership role in the absence of Zakaria Fuseini who recently joined Spanish Tecera side, San Fernando.
The former Ghana U20 player has been one of the promising talents in the Ghana Premier League since making his debut for the club.
He is expected to lead the Bibires in the coming season.
Chelsea will open their Ghana Premier League season with a trip to the capital to face Legon Cities.
