Popular Ghanaian highlife crooner, Lucky Mensah has asked Ghanaians not to blame President Akufo-Addo for the skyrocketing fuel prices in the country.
Speaking in an interview with Obibini TV, Lucky Mensah, who released a satirical song titled ‘Nkratuo’ apparently to criticize the late President John Evans Atta-Mills barely a year after he was elected into office, said Ghanaians should be patient and wait till the current president hands over power before judging him.
Due to his admiration for then-candidate Nana Addo and his support for him during his 2016 election campaign, he said he wrote a song for the politician in 2016.
As a result, if you feel Nana Akufo-Addo is underperforming, you should give him three years to finish his tenure before making a final decision.
As far as the first term of President Mahama is concerned, Lucky Mensah says Ghanaians should wait till he has finished his term before drawing parallels to other presidents.
However, despite recent increases in the price of gasoline, Lucky Mensah said that Ghana is not the only nation facing high expenditures. Rising oil prices on the international market, as all Ghanaian politicians are well aware, would surely influence the country’s economic development.
He praised President Akufo-Addo for his efforts in addressing the energy crisis, popularly known as “dumsor.”
