Isaac Debrah Bekoe, Chief Executive Officer of As I Grow (AIG), a nonprofit organisation in the Eastern Region has urged parents to refrain from engaging in sexual activity in the presence of their kids.
He highlighted some Ghanaian parents, particularly those in rural areas, who choose to share a room with their young children until they are old enough to rent a room on their own.
“These parents mostly have sexual intercourse in the presence of their children in a room at night presuming their children are asleep” he said.
According to him, a lot of children witness their parents having sex, which piques their interest and desire to engage in the same behavior at the young age without knowing the consequencies.
At the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, Mr. Bekoe made the statement at the beginning of the campaign against teenage pregnancy within the region and country at large.
