The outgoing Asamankese Divisional Police Commander in the Eastern Region, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr. Akwasi Kankam Boadu has called on Political leaders and Chiefs to stop interfering with the work of the Police.
He noted that, if the Police are allowed to work, there will be law and order in the Country and called on Ghanaians to trust the police service.
Speaking to Journalists after the end of service Thanksgiving at the James Town Church of Pentecost in Asamankese, (ACP) Mr. Akwasi Kankam Boadu said the settlement of criminal cases in the house and palace is not the best but most often, Police commanders are pressurized by Opinion leaders and Politicians to release suspect for out of court settlement.
The retired Commander, who was transferred from Western Region to Asamankese Division in February 2020, said Asamankese has been one of the peaceful places he has been and said he and his team maintained law and order in the Division since he was posted there.
ACP Mr. Akwasi Kankam Boadu called on the Police to continue to work with professionalism and collaborate with the citizens for them to give information and assist in the investigation to make the work easy.
He said the Police Service is not about money-making but service to the people and encouraged people who want to join the service team to proceed because it is a great profession that serves with Integrity.
