The Eastern Regional Minister, Kwakye Darfour has cautioned drivers to desist from practises that imperil the lives of passengers.
According to the Minister, drunk driving, over speeding, overtaken and some other human errors on the part of drivers are the outcome of the excessive accidents that are occurring on our roads hence drivers need to be disciplined on our roads all the time in order to reduce accidents.
This came to light when Mr Darfour reacted to the gory accident that occurred on the Kyekyewere Accra-Kumasi highway Tuesday morning.
“It is very necessary for drivers to continually refresh their knowledge and also have constant training in order for them to understand defensive driving. In situations such as burst tyres, if the knowledge was there it would have not brought this unexpected ruin,” he said.
He added that there are designs to dualize our main roads from Accra to Tamale, Western Region, Aflao and others but the lack of resources has always delayed these projects hence they are going to work on that to save Ghanaians lives.
Mr Kwakye Darfour then extended his condolence to families that lost their loved ones in the just gory accident.
