Chairman Kwame Owusu, Adansi Asokwa New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman in the Ashanti Region has chastised the Government of Ghana for spending too much money on the Senior National Team, the Black Stars of Ghana.
According to Chairman Kwame Owusu, the country does not get any benefit from the national team so why must money be wasted on the team.
“We must stop spending on Ghana Black Stars because the country does not benefit anything from the team”
“It’s not good for the Ghanaian government to spend money on football, Instead, they should spend the money on education, agriculture, roads and others”
“It’s about time we stop wasting our taxes on sports, especially football and invest solely in our education, roads and agriculture”
The Black Stars didn’t do well at the Africa Cup of Nations, and some people are mad at them. Chairman Kwame Owusu is mad at the government for investing in football and supporting the team.
Black Stars will face Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-offs set to begin this Friday.
Ghana will play the first leg in Kumasi on Friday 25th August 2022 in Kumasi with the return leg to be hosted in Abuja four days later.
The winner over two legs will book one of Africa’s five slots for the 2022 World Cup to be hosted in Qatar at the end of the year.
