The Ghana National Fire Service as described it as unprofessional how Accra based Peace fm reported on a fire outbreak at Lapaz Nii Boye Town.
The service is, however, advising the media house to cross check their information well so as not to mislead the public.
The statement as posted on the service Facebook page reads:

Peace 104.3 FM Please Stop this Unfortunate and Unprofessional Journalism…Before you report of an Incident, Please get your Correspondents on the Grounds and Claify before Misleading the Public about the Ghana National Fire Service
Our Control Roon Recieved the Fire call at 0525HRS and within 10 minutes, our Team from Anyaa Fire Station Arrived at the Scene , putting the Fire under Control at 0610HRS..
Hence, as at the time of your Unfortunate Misinformation, Our Crew had already been at the Scene for over 30 mins. and had worked hard to put the Fire under Control and prevent any Further Spread
The GNFS has sustained a strong Relationship with the Various Media and its Unfortunate that, a Noble institution like yours will seek to Undermine the Efforts of the Hard Working Officers of GNFS.
