Gospel trio Daughters of Glorious Jesus made up of Cynthia Agyare Appiadu, Monica Owusu Ansah and Edna Agyare Sarpong have cautioned individuals and groups who do renditions of their songs without consulting them to stop that practice.
According to the seasoned musicians, who celebrated 30 years in the industry last year, it is not appropriate for people to just take their songs and do renditions without going through the right channels.
“We have seen on YouTube countless times how some people deliberately take our songs and do renditions without seeking permission from us.
“We have been quiet for some time now but not anymore, we are prepared to deal with anyone who takes our songs and does whatever they want with them.
“Most of the time the lyrics in those renditions are wrong and others also sing the songs so badly. If you think writing songs is that simple why you don’t write your own songs,” the trio said.
