Eastern Regional Director of NRSA, Nana Akua Ansah, is still in shock after hearing about two fatal road accidents on Valentine’s Day, saying she didn’t expect to hear any bad news on a day meant for love.
Speaking to Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney, she stated that they recorded 2 cases that day, one from Asafo and the other from Okanta, but the one from Okanta was critical due to the fire outbreak.
“We were not happy about what we heard because the statistics that came last year weren’t encouraging so we went to have education with people, so we didn’t expect to hear anything like that on Val’s day, and the sad part is that they recorded 2 cases that day”. She stated
According to Mrs. Ansah, “a motor rider tried to intervene but ended up crashing into a parked car, killing two passengers who weren’t wearing seatbelts”. She added
She attributed most of the cases to human error, suggesting the driver was probably tired, given there was no incline to suggest otherwise.
