The Suhum Constituency of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, has accused the Municipal Chief Executive of the Area Magaret Darko for laying claim to already existed projects as an achievement by the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP.
In a statement issued by the party under the signature of Daniel Achinor the Constituency Communication Director on Monday, September 14, 2020, stated that the party observed “with shock the calculated and deliberate attempt by the Incompetent MCE of Suhum to deceive the good people of Suhum and Ghanaians in general concerning some projects and achievements her government has undertaken. We bring to you in this Release our observations of the lies and deception that have been well-cooked, rehearsed and planted by the NPP government in the Suhum”
Fact-Checking Suhum MCE (Hon. Margaret Darko) Claims about the Achievements of the NPP Government in Suhum Constituency
Below is a list of Projects that the MCE of Suhum claims her administration has done.
1. CLAIM: 1D1F Mechanical Shop at Suhum Okorase. The MCE claim that the Akuffo Addo government has established a Mechanical Shop which has provided hundreds of jobs to the youth at Okorase.
REALITY: The claim is a Big lie. There is no 1D1F Mechanical Shop at Okorase.
2. CLAIM: School Project at Suhum Abisem. The MCE claim, she has constructed a new school facility at Suhum Abisem.
REALITY: The claim is untrue. The school facility at Suhum-Abisem was constructed by an NGO and not by the Akuffo Addo government.
3. CLAIM: Six Unit Classroom Block at Nankese Abisem.
REALITY: The claim is false. All the people in Nankese Abisem know that the Six Unit classroom block was funded and established by an NGO and it was lobbied by the Assembly Member of Nankese Abisem.
4. CLAIM: Brong -Densuso school Project. The MCE claim that she has established a six-unit classroom block at Brong Densuso.
REALITY: The six-unit classroom block at Brong Densuso was constructed and completed by the former MCE of Suhum,
Hon. Margaret Ansei (Magoo) in the year 2016.
5. CLAIM: Construction of Nankese KG school block
REALITY: The claim is a Big lie. The Nankese KG has been in existence for the past 40 years. There is no such new project like Nankese KG. It is a big disgrace that the MCE is claiming project which has been there before she was born and indoctrinated into the NPP.
6. CLAIM: Abisem CHIP Compound. The MCE claim she has constructed a new CHIP compound at Abisem
REALITY: The claim is false. The CHIP compound was constructed by the Former MCE of Suhum Hon Margaret Ansei (Magoo). The CHIP compound was fully functional before the NPP came into office.
7. CLAIM: Suhum Senior High and Technical Girls Dormitory.
REALITY: This claim is untrue. The Sutesco Girls Dormitory was constructed by the John Mahama Administration.
8. CLAIM: Construction of Suhum Islamic Girls Dormitory.
REALITY: The claim is untrue.
9. CLAIM: Construction of Aponoapono CHIP Compound
REALITY: The claim is untrue. It is on record that the Aponoapono CHIP compound was constructed by the erstwhile NDC government under the able leadership of Hon. Margaret Ansei (Magoo).
10. CLAIM: Construction of the Gojiase CHIP compound.
REALITY: The Gojiase CHIP Compound was constructed by an NGO which is already known by the constituents at Gojiase.
11. CLAIM: Construction of Police station and Police Barracks at Akorabo.
REALITY: This claim is untrue. The reality is that the project was initiated by the erstwhile NDC government under the able leadership of Hon. Margaret Ansei (Magoo).The project was halted and to date, nothing has been done about it.
Claim 12: Construction of school block at Akotey.
Reality: The newly constructed school block at Akotey was a project of Cocoa Abrabopa Company solely financed by Cocoa Abrabopa.
It is on record that Hon Samuel Fletcher Kwabi executed the following products and others during his tenure as MCE under NDC administration.
(1) The building of a computer lab for the JHS near Vena
(2) The building of a Two Multiputi-purpose Workshop and Industrial Enclave for the resettlement of Mechanics
(3) Tarring of Okorase Main Road and linking it to the Accra- Kumasi Highway
(4) Creating several Access Roads at Kwasi Larbi and Okorase
(4) Creation of Cocoa Seedling Nursery at the Garages Site for Supply of seedlings to Cocoa farmers in the Municipality.
We are by this release calling on the media to do a fact check in the Suhum Municipality on the projects mentioned by the Suhum MCE (Margaret Darko).
We are also calling on all well-meaning residents of Suhum as well as the media to advise the Suhum MCE (Margaret Darko) to refrain from fighting caterers of the school feeding project.
Her shameful behavior of ordering her thugs to pour away food prepared by caterers she has tagged as supporters of Hon. Fredrick Opare Ansah is giving Suhum a bad press and must be condemned by all.
