Residents of Sunyani in the Bono region are requesting an ultra-modern stadium to host sporting activities.
According to aggrieved residents, the lack of a modern stadium remains a challenge to the region in unearthing sportsmen and women and building upon their capabilities to benefit them and the country at large.
Speaking to the media a mammoth demonstration to voice out their challenges, some of the youth stressed that the current park where sporting activities are held lacks all the basic requirements thereby making it difficult to exhibit their God-giving talents.
“We need a stadium so the youth can go there for their sporting activities. We all know sports is one of the greatest avenues to success nowadays but unfortunately, our children don’t have access to prove themselves” some aggrieved protesters narrated.
On the issue of development, residents complained Sunyani lacks the most basic social amenities despite being an old known town for its contribution to the national development.
Residents and drivers could not hide from their poor road networks that hindering agriculture and investments into the area.
They are, therefore, calling on the government, Member of Parliament, and the municipal Assembly to intervene and help Sunyani get its fair share of the national cake.
