The Supreme Court has put finality to the issue of Professor Mawutor Avoke, Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba declaring him as legitimately and legally occupying the said position.
A powerful re-constituted Supreme Court, CORAM made up of Baffoe Bonnie JSC, Avril Lovelace Johnson JSC, Torkornoo JSC, Kulendi JSC Prof Quarshigah JSC and Amadu Tanko JSC on Wednesday, 9th November 2022, delivered it’s erudite on an application for Judicial Ruling of the same Supreme Court then sitting as an Ordinary Bench compromising of five Justices which dismissed an earlier Judicial Review application by one Emmanuel Ansong Baah, styled as done in the public interest against the ruling of the Winneba High Court reinstating Prof. Mawutor Avoke and the five other senior officers of the University of Education, Winneba on several reasons among which was an authentic EOCO report exonerating them from procurement breaches.
By this ruling of the Supreme Court, those who seek to block the reinstatement and removal of Prof. Avoke and the five officers from the University have been put to silence forever.
Thus, the long battle between those unseen mischievous faces/ interests and the University over the landmark decision of the High Court, Winneba, delivered on the 2nd February 2022, over the reinstatement of Prof. Avoke and the five others has been brought to a definite end.
Prof. Avoke presently remains the only legally recognised and legitimate Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and together with the other five legitimately occupying their respective officers and positions as Ordered by the High Court, Winneba.
It is therefore expected that every member of the UEW Community shall cooperate with Prof. Avoke and his team in the interest of peace and working in harmony within the University.
