A man believed to be his late sixties identified only as Mr. Andrews, who claimed to be Ghanaian national based in Switzerland,has been found dead in a rented room in the Two Streams suburb of New Juaben South municipality in Eastern Region.
The deceased was discovered hanging from a door frame, dressed in a suit and shoes, with his legs touching the ground.
Mr. Andrews, who claimed to have a house in Accra and family in the Central Region, had moved to the area a few months ago.
He told residents that his wife and children remained in Switzerland.
Known for socializing and drinking with local youths, he was seen as a lively presence in the community.
A few days before his death, Mr. Andrews reportedly invited his cousin to collect his luggage and household items, indicating his intention to return to Switzerland.
However, on Monday June 3,2024 , he was found hanging in his room.
The police have taken the body to the morgue pending an autopsy
Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
