The Tamale Technical University (TTU) has increased its fees by 8.5 per cent instead of the initial 15 per cent increment.
This comes on the back of a meeting between management of the Tamale Technical University and the Students Representative Council (SRC).
A Memorandum from the SRC President to the student body dated Monday, 22 March 2023, said: “As a result of a directive from the University Central Council, management of the University directed the Central Admissions Board to meet with the SRC to bring finality to the issue of the 15 per cent increment in our fees.”
According to the Memorandum, “after a healthy discussion, an amicable solution was reached.”
It indicated that: “An 8.5 per cent increment for all students was agreed on. This percentage was calculated against our last academic year’s fees.”
It, therefore, admonished students to “endeavour to cooperate with this adjustment as we continue to push through other student grievances.”
The Students of Tamale Technical University decided to boycott lectures indefinitely over management’s failure to review the 15 per cent increment in school fees.
