Former Eastern Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Bismark Tawiah Boateng has called for the drafting of the National Manifesto to guide all political parties in the Country to end abandonment of projects by successive government.
He said Since Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s regime, successive governments have been abandoning projects started with Taxpayers’ money and he was worried over such move.
In a telephone interview with Kofi Atakora, mybrytfmonline reporter, Mr. Bismark Tawiah Boateng accused Nana Akufo-Addo led administration for abandoning Infrastructural projects such as Community day Senior High schools, Health facilities, Roads and others started by Late President Atta Mills and John Mahama administration and initiating similar projects for political gains.
The 1992 Constitution DIRECTIVE PRINCIPLES OF STATE POLICY states in “Article 34(7) that “As far as practicable a government shall continue and execute projects and programmes commenced by the previous Governments”.
But Mr. Tawiah Boateng said current government has ignored this Constitutional provision and called for National Manifesto to guide any government that comes to power to continue successive government projects.
Speaking on Nana Akufo-Addo led administration three years in office; Mr. Tawiah Boateng said the government performance so far is below 50% but commanded the introduction of free Senior High school policy but was not happy over the tracking system.
He has however called on Ghanaians to reject the NPP administration in December general elections and vote for Mr. John Dramani Mahama who was investing massively in School Infrastructure and was optimistic that there shall be an end to the school tracking system if NDC return to administration.
