Kroma 2 Junior High School in Nungua in Greater Accra Region has been shut down after a gang of hoodlums stormed the school to beat a teacher mercilessly for punishing a student for not working on his homework.
The teacher- Moses Onyameasem sustained injuries and was rushed to LKMA Polyclinic for treatment.
A witness narrated to mybrytfmonline.com that “a final year student of Kroma 2 JHS and a native of Nungua was punished for refusing to do his homework only to run home and call his gang and the gang came with a sprinter bus to attack the teacher (Mr. Moses Onyameasem) at the school premises yesterday and wounded the teacher”.
He said the “teacher rescued by some of his colleagues and was rushed to the Lekma polyclinic: the wounds on his face were stitched and he was since discharged. He is currently home nursing the sore and responding to treatment. The mother also came to the school raining insults to the teachers in the school’.
Due to the incident, Basic Schools around the Town park area have been closed down till further notice in solidarity with the injured teacher and for their safety.
The teachers are demanding immediate arrest and prosecution of the suspect before they will return to class.
