Benjamin Yaw Gyarko, Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman the Bono East Regional capital is worried that some schools within the municipality still lack infrastructure, and pupils are seen learning in dilapidated buildings.
He has, therefore, pledged to liaise with his able Member of Parliament Hon. Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah who doubles as a Deputy Minister for Local Gov’t and Rural Dev’t to quickly remedy the situation.
He has reiterated that President Nana Akufo- Addo-led NPP Government’s attractive educational policies have increased school enrolment at all levels, therefore, putting pressure on the already existing school structures and needing urgent expansion which he will achieve during his tenure as MCE.
Hon. Benjamin Gyarko made this observation in Techiman when he toured some Public Schools as part of “My First Day at School”.
For his part, Mr. John Kwadwo Amissah, Techiman Municipal Director of Ghana Education Service welcomed the little children to school advising Teachers and Parents to play their roles diligently to help the pupils have an interest in education in order to become responsible and useful citizens in the future.
