The Overlord of the Ashanti Region, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leaders to come clean with Ghanaians as they campaign for the upcoming elections.
The flagbearer of the NDC was in Ashanti Region to introduce his running mate and vice-presidential candidate, Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to Otumfuor Osei Tutu II
It was at this event that the well-regarded King of the Ashanti Kingdom opined that the NDC should be confident in admitting their mistakes during their tenure of office and also make people aware of it.
“Tell Ghanaians your mistakes and also be truthful to them when you are campaigning”, he advised.
Otumfuor said that the citizens of Ghana voted him out of power because they were experiencing hunger and anger, so he should take note of that and correct all those mistakes he did in 2016.
According to the King, it is very necessary that the former president campaigns well by letting Ghanaians know how he has helped the country during his time and what he will be doing differently if he is given the mandate again.
Otumfuor Osei Tutu welcomed the former minister of education who is now the running mate of John Mahama, Prof. Naana Jane and also advised her to stick to issues-based electioneering campaign to make her campaign messages clear so Ghanaians will be aware of what the party has for them.
