Tyron Marghuy, one of the students who were rejected by Achimota Senior High School because the student should cut his dreadlocks before enrolling in the school has come out publicly and asserted that it’s discriminatory for the school authorities to him to trim his hair.
According to him, he won’t sacrifice himself for anything in this world even if it will cost him his enrollment in the Achimota Senior High School.
Speaking in an interview with Evans Mensah on PM Express Tyron made this pronouncement.
“As per my age, I go with my dad’s religion just as in every home. Because if your Mum or Dad has a religion you as a kid, may want to go with your Dad’s religion. So long as I’m under their shelter and care, I will want to go with their religion even if it will cost me my education,” he said.
It could be recalled that the President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Mr. Angel Carbonu in reaction to the ongoing brouhaha between the family of two Rastafarians affirmed that Rastafarians should get their school if they do not want to comply with rules and regulations of the Achimota School.
