Dozens of gun and machete-wielding men besieged the community Sunday, April 25, 2021, mercilessly beat up some residents and pulled down some ongoing structures. Two chiefs- Mankralo Tetteh Wayo and Nene Padi Wayo as well as an Assemblymember Godwin Martey, escaped death having been rescued by the youth to a hideout.
There was complete pandemonium in the community.
Addressing the media, Mankralo of Shai Traditional area, Nene Narh Padi Wayo III said, “we are calling on the President, the Interior Minister, and IGP with immediate effect to call the Doryumu Police to act on this issue. Once again, we call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to give urgency to this demand within 48 hours because our people are leaving in total fear. The people of Kordiabe especially the youth are getting agitated and we cannot control their anger any longer. We are ready to protect and defend the land from criminals”.
The Chief narrated that,” on Sunday the 25th of April 2021, the whole Kordiabe township was taken over by land guards suspected to have been brought by The Boy, who happens to be the third son of the late Paramount Chief of the Shai state”.
