The political atmosphere is intensifying as posters belonging to New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary aspirant, Hayford Siaw, face defacement.
Mr. Siaw, the CEO of the Ghana Library Authority, is vying to unseat the current Member of Parliament, Frank Annoh-Dompreh.
In preparation for the party’s January 27 primaries, Siaw’s campaign team has strategically placed posters across the constituency.
However, they’ve encountered a challenge as these posters are mysteriously removed overnight by unidentified individuals.
A video has emerged, allegedly depicting a member from the incumbent MP’s camp physically assaulting a Siaw team member questioning him about the poster defacement.
Bystanders intervened to prevent further escalation as tensions heightened between the two factions.
Siaw’s supporters have strongly condemned these acts, labeling them as cowardly, and are urging the police to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Despite attempts, contacting the incumbent MP, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has proven unsuccessful.
The situation underscores the importance of maintaining a fair and peaceful electoral process, urging authorities to intervene promptly to ensure order in the constituency as the primary date approaches.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Library Authority Hayford Siaw and David Adu- Tutu jnr are battling the current Member of Parliament Frank Annor Dompreh who is also majority chief whip in the NPP Primaries.
