The outgoing Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw Constituency Eric Kwakye Darfuor has written a short epistle to his constituents as he leaves Parliament today.
Eric Kwakye Darfuor who doubles as the Eastern Regional Minister stated that “As today marks my final day as MP for this cherished Constituency; I would like to express my most profound, heartfelt thanks to the people who have trusted me with their votes for 8 years to serve them. We have come a long way as a family, as one people, as a Constituency and we will do more in the coming years and beyond. I couldn’t have done this without your immense support, prayers, and constructive criticisms.
I want to say a special thank you to the ‘Party Faithfuls’ who have stood by me time and again. God bless you for your effort to the Constituency.
Moving on, I want to once again congratulate the new MP-elect, Hon. Frempong Joseph on this feat he has achieved. I pledge my support to him throughout his term, as much as he will need. I will be grateful if the support given to me by the entire Constituency will be given to him as well to reach new heights that will make the lives of the people better than before.

Eric Kwakye Darfuor lost the primaries of the NPP to Joseph Frempong in his third attempt to represent the Nkawkaw Constituency.
The dissolution of the 7th Parliament of the fourth republic takes place midnight of today to pave way for the swearing-in of the Members of Parliament for the 8th Parliament ahead of the inauguration of President Akufo Addo as President of Ghana for the second term.
