The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), UK branch, Nana Ansah Obofour, has debunked the spreading rumors about His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
The President’s name has been on the market for some days now after he was seen in a video circulating on social media accepting money from a group of people.
Ghanaians have reacted to this video and some believe it’s a set up against the president as the elections are fast approaching, others also are of the view that the president has lied about his reputation since he is seen as an anti-corrupt President.
According to Nana Ansah Obofour, the president can never involve himself in any form of corruption and bribery hence Ghanaians should not permit the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to deceive them.
Speaking in an interview with Abena Pokuaa Ahwenee on Dadi FM, he reassured Ghanaians that the sitting President is not a replica of former President John Mahama who is highly corrupt.
“The brand Nana Addo can never be associated with corruption, NDC members are aware of this. They know the president can never partake in anything that will cause harm to Ghanaians or won’t do anything to destroy his brand and reputation”, he added.
He advised the NDC to desist from tarnishing the image of Nana Addo and concentrate on campaigning and convincing Ghanaians to vote for them.
“We are working hard to campaign throughout the country and they are busily creating issues to destroy our president, Ghanaians will vote for us based on our hard work”.
He added that the objective behind the video has nothing to do with bribery; it was funded from the individuals to the NPP party as a way of funding and supporting their campaign in 2016.
