Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, has emphasised that celebrating International Women’s Day is not enough, and has called on all women to champion policies that support their empowerment and well-being.
The lawmaker highlights the importance of solidarity among women, recognising that the struggles of one woman affect all women.
“It’s a stark reminder that our collective happiness is tied to the happiness of the most vulnerable among us,” she stated.
Hon Naa Koryoo’s words echo the sentiments of many women leaders, including herself, who have demonstrated selfless commitment to the welfare of their constituents.
“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, let’s remember that true empowerment requires more than just celebration. It demands collective action, policy changes, and a willingness to lift each other up” she stated.
