Former Minority Chief Whip, Munkata Mubarak has said national interest should always be above party partisan interests.
Until that is done, he said the development of Ghana and Parliament will be difficult.
Euologising the late former Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Dr Anthony Akoto Osei in Parliament on Wednesday, March 29, the Asawase Lawmaker said “we are taking soo much-entrenched positions, both sides, those in government taking soo much-entrenched positions, those in the opposition taking extreme entrenched position.
“I can bet you, this is not helpful to our country, it is not helpful to the development of Parliament. The better both sides begin to think that there is a national interest above the NPP interest and above the NDC interest, we will be sinking our country.”
Dr Akoto Osei’s death was announced on the official Facebook page of the Parliament of Ghana on Monday, March 20.
