Mr Emmanuel Kwaku Asante, a former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower West Akim in the Eastern Region has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reduce the size of his government.
He believes there are more Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and unwanted political appointees. Let them go home if possible.
He added that the current economic difficulties the country faces do not support the large size of the government.
Mr Emmanuel Kwaku Asante made this statement in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM on their Socio-political show dubbed “Ebesi Sen”
According to him, if Government is serious about reducing expenditure it should move away from petty issues such as reducing the size of convoys, banning the use of V8 and others.
He stressed the people of Ghana alone cannot be called upon to withstand the worst of the economic mismanagement and attendant hardships while those responsible for the crisis continue as if nothing happened or they did nothing.
