Tanzania-based Ghanaian forward Hafiz Konkoni has opened up on his maiden Black Stars call up.
Konkoni, who scored 15 goals in 25 games in the Ghana Premier League last season became the first local player to earn a call-up to the men’s senior national team since Chris Hughton took over as head coach.
The forward earned his debut Ghana call up in June when the Black Stars played Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Konkoni, who currently plies his trade for Tanzanian giants, Young Africans reflected on his debut invite to the national team.
“It’s a huge achievement for me because Ghana is blessed with a lot of talents. So, it’s a blessing to even get closer to the Black Stars” he said.
Hafiz Konkoni has already notched two goals for Young Africans since switching from Bechem United.
